Senya Ceilo'Te looks uncharacteristically pensive here as she models yet another costume design.

I was particularly pleased with this skunk archer. I sketched him using a brush pen while riding in a car, so the strong layout and action impressed me.

Zeal Sharpclaw is a fantasy-medieval character, so I experimented with her costume to make her both appropriate to the period and able to move freely.

I like to draw cartoon animals. I had been drawing many humans at the time, so I opted for an anthropomorphic rabbit. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

After doodling my coyote, Trevor Droll, I tried a background of different hashes. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

After doodling my Canadian lynx, Zeal Sharpclaw, I decided to try the pattern technique of scribbles for the background. It worked surprisingly well, giving both an active background and making her stand out. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

I explored my coyote, Trevor Droll, and discovered that I do not like to draw hats. Since I intend for the character to wear one, this might be a problem. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

I probably just felt like drawing a goofy expression when I drew this image of a puzzled -- possibly dazed -- Zeal Sharpclaw. That or I was feeling this way at the time. If that is the case, then I wonder what triggered such a reaction! This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

Red mechanical pencil on white paper. April 2007.

Upbeat music helps pass a slow bus ride and it can put me into a dancing mood. Since a moving bus is not a great place to get up and dance with abandon, I can settle for letting my pencil capture movement for me. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

I do not draw my characters enough. During a moment of lamenting this, I sketched Lillian Lighthare. Not wanting to get too involved on a small sketch drawn on the bus, I left it incomplete. This is one of my "bouncy bus ride doodles".

View the image. Lillian Lighthare is a fantasy-medieval character, but her costume reflected my laziness more than the appropriate period. This image reflects some actual research in an attempt to fix that, though I still took some liberties to make her design manageable for drawing her frequently in a comic.

View the image. Zeal Sharpclaw is so often a cartoon representation of me that the fact she is first a separate character can be overlooked. So, here she plays with magic, something I certainly cannot do.

Chory Jorov and Senya Ceilo'Te stroll a fair together. Is Senya making a sneak tickle attack on Chory or offering him a playful rebuke for some comment? Only they know!
